Jacquelyn Kane was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. As a child she loved to act and write. She began creative writing and performing in school plays by the time she was eight years old.
In 1999, with the help of a local theater group she brought a drama club to her former high school. It was around that time that she wrote and completed her first screenplay. She entered that screenplay into a state teen writer’s competition where she won 3rd place. After conquering the arts in her teen years, Kane decided to further her education by attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. While attending the university, she joined her school’s drama society staring in plays then assisting with directing and putting together a full production.
Throughout her life Kane was faced with many challenges she had to overcome in order to achieve her goals. When she was six years old she was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease after being misdiagnosed for years. She fell ill due to the disease for much of her young life, spending time in and out of the hospital. She never let her ailment stop her. Kane was determined to succeed and become an actress, writer, director, and producer.
In 2007 Kane moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in acting, writing, directing, and producing. She is currently one of the co-hosts of Every Way Woman and is working on her first project under her new production company, Kane Is Able Productions, LLC.
