Miyamoto-Galvan earned her B.A. in psychology and is in the process of acquiring an M.A. in clinical psychology. She aspires to create programs for adolescents and couples with regards to healthy relationships and self-confidence. Her main focus is human sexuality in every aspect from reproduction to rape, to issues with gender and sexual identity. She is currently working on a thesis about bisexual individuals with regards to their relationship desires.

Miyamoto-Galvan has frequently volunteered in peer education programs designed to educate college students about the definition of date rape and how to protect themselves from becoming victims. She is an avid supporter of women’s rights and the LGBTIQ communities.

Her hobbies are hula dancing, crafts, singing, playing the ukulele, astrology and biology.
