Sehnita Joshua Mattison got her start T.V. as an Associate Producer for the feisty Judge Judy. She co-produced the episode that garnered the show’s 2003 Emmy nomination. From there Sehnita took her passion for producing compelling shows that engage the audience and gets them talking to a number of daytime talk shows and news programs. Sehnita interned at Southern California Public Radio station 89.3 KPCC, the most listened to public radio news service in the region and NPR affiliate. She has also covered the Golden Globes and other award shows for Reuters. In 2010, Sehnita stepped in front of the camera as the anchor for Crown City News, a hyper-local newscast serving Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley. As News Director and Anchor for a vital news source for the community, Sehnita has the ability to ask the hard questions that are important to residents while giving leaders a chance to speak directly to their constituents or clients.
Sehnita graduated with a B.S. in BioPsychology from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and completed pre-medical coursework. She pursued medicine because she wanted to help people, but realized that there are lots of ways to serve those in need. Sehnita has worked for a number of non-profit organizations including Chrysalis, that helps homeless individuals turn their lives around through jobs and BookEnds, a children’s literacy organization that helps create the next generation of readers and leaders. She also worked as the Chief Branding Officer and V.P. of Media and Community Relations for Artwork For Education, a company that raises money for schools by turning kids’ artwork into original greeting cards.
Sehnita loves to travel and has visited countries all over the world from Pakistan, Korea and Japan to Austria, The Czech Republic and France. Her next adventure will take her to Hong Kong.
Sehnita lives in Los Angeles with her husband, a fellow UofM grad, her baby boy, a future UofM grad and a cat who just likes to meow.
